How long it takes to see changes in traffic on directory submission

After some research and calculation I ended up submitting to directories:
    2yi.net
    directory.v7n.com
    dirspace.com
    linksjuice.com
    dir.yahoo.com
In addition submitted to about 150 free ones.
These already cost me 400 bucks.

I guess that should do the job. What you guys think?
Regarding the traffic, how long it may take to get noticeable changes in your opinion?
I believe most of the traffic will be coming from search engines because of directory submission. Am I right?

If your budget was $400 then I think it was a mistake to spend $299 on the yahoo directory. This is just my opinion.

It would have been better to submit to smaller independent directories like those owned by members on this forum. This would have been better for SEO and better on your wallet.

    Just a few examples:

    www.allthelink.com
    www.apahcinc.org
    www.bigweblinks.com
    www.cbgred.com
    www.daredirectory.com
    www.directorydream.com
    www.dirsensei.com
    www.ewebpages.org
    www.forplex.com
    www.gii.in
    www.idk.in
    www.linkbook.org << I recommend the PR6 category sponsorship
    www.ninadirectory.com
    www.nobledirectory.com
    www.redpines.org
    www.romow.com

    Lots more here.

Yes I don't think Yahoo is worth it, and it is only a one year link! You could have got a lot of nice PR pages for that kind of outlay.

I would 100% agree with that, its really waste to spend 299 on yahoo.

For your next phase you can find some good directory to get listed here:

alive and aviva sends the most traffic! and you have not submitted there! and as for the yahoo, i guess you won't get much traffic from there:eek:

if your link is approved in those directories, where you have submitted, the traffic will follow immidiately, but then if you are thinking of the search engine traffic, by the link you got, it will take time!!

Don't worry too much about the money you've spent on Yahoo directory, its already spent, gone,

however, at least you've had the quality of your site verified by one off the 2 giants of the directory business.

Lets know if you get good traffic especially from yahoo ,

Good luck, an when you can afford it, submit to more directories, both paid an free

    webdirectorybid.com ( i think) is robs site.

Its a bidding directory and the letter pages have PR6, which is mega cheap. go submit there.

I would say that it will bump your PR and well personally i have not seen much traffic directory coming form web directories..

A yahoo listing would be good for the SERPs

I would not consider your link building strategy wrong as a yahoo lsiting is very credible and the selection of other directories is also very good.

For further directory listing you could use this list

I have hand-submitted to quite a few free directories with PR4-5. But the results pages only have PR0-2. So how valuable are the links if I do get listed? Even many of the paid directories only have PR1-2 for the page I would be listed on. Is there a cheap way to get PR4-5 links back?

$299 can be spent on getting good PR 7 links or even PR 6 links for quite a while... You have ended up paying for the brand... Other than that, you got 2 of my all time favorite dirs..

    2yi.net
    linksjuice.com

    Good value for money. Period!!

honestly I digged through lot of posts at DP. And lot of our fellow members specified they submit to yahoo directory when they open a new site. Another thing is, yahoo directory is the strongest directory on the list.
I look at it this way, it will make it trusted by lot of SEs. And thus probably will have a better PR. And eventually more traffic from SE.
I am still learning, this is a lesson.

I have submitted to a few directory directories like Directory Critic. But there just doesn't seem to be enough of them. I will try linkmaximiser.com and seocompany.ca. Thanks :)
