Blog or Forum!!!... Which is the best money maker!!!

Which do you is the best money maker a Blog with great information very updated or a nice forum with a great comunity

 

Use them both together... Can't go wrong.

Id pick a forum over a blog though.

 

Its a LOT easier to get links to a blog than a forum.

Unless you already get a load of traffic its almost impossible to start a forum.

 

Also agreed, just make sure you search engine optimize the forum. Each post you make is like a new blog entry or a new page of content so it's quite remarkable how it can get going. Mind you it's like a snowball where you have to roll it the first 25,000 times but on 25,001 it starts rolling by itself than watch out. Just be ready to work alot and do alot of reciprocal posting.

 

My pick would be a blog for short to medium term. My investing blog has a 10 times more ctr than my investing forum.

However forums become auto-content generators in the long term.

Forums require a lot more hard work than blogs. Only if you think you have the expertise and patience to built a forum, then go for it..else blogs are much easier to manage.

 

Getting a forum started is a lot harder, but once it's active enough, you can practically just sit on your ass all day and still earn money.

 

Some sites are using software such as http://www.forumpostingsucks.com to fill their forums with natural (auto generated) content to get them started.

Yes i agree about getting a forum started having to pay a lot of fees, having to direct traffic for a bit of revenue, having to keep posting as moderator or pay more fees for others to do so. However you get the good ones, ie Digitalpoint , that earn 10K a month.

But i have to say Blogging is much easier and is an intermediate way of making money. As the guys with the big money and lots of time all go for the forums.

I'm trying with a blog. Forum's seem really hard to get members!

 

If you are in this only for money you will not succed (or it will be very hard especialy if you are a biginer)

 

I would say blog when you are just starting out and head on with a forum if your blog is already gaining a large amount of traffic.

 

start a blog, market it well and buy/force some traffic on it..
after a month,, put some adsense... you're good to go..
dont leave the linking .. continue until you get PR5 and then leave it to float

 

Blog for a newbie. If you are determined and ready to take a claculated risk go for a niche forum which has the potential to attract high traffic!

 

Thanks for all the posts i can see blog is by far easier, but not the best earner. As forums has the potential to earn tens of thousands of dollars a month where as the best blog I don't think can hit the $10'000 mark in a month just on some ads and adsence.
