Are you guys under a bussiness account or a personal account.

They say you should change to bussiness account if your going to have more than 6 transactions a year. Obviously I am going to have more than 6 transactions a year. So now im a bussiness account and have to pay 2.4% + 30c to them.

So lets say you do 10 quick posts for $1 for a friend he sends you the money and you only get 67.6 cents. AHHH thats too much... for a 12$ transaction i paid 71 cents tell me how much you pay and what account you guys have personal or bussiness..

Can you change from Bussiness back to personal and is it nessesary to change it to business...

    Thank you

Unfortunately I have a business account. I say unfortunately because Paypal have gone downhill to such an extent over the last 18 months or so, but I don't have the money to afford an independent merchant account.

I went business simply to avoid having to upgrade later and getting into problems (which I've had no end of before I've even got past the registration phase - not that PayPal tried to help!). This makes things a little more complicated in that you have to sell to business standards (I'm only selling on eBay at the moment) but it's practice for when i get bigger I suppose. And honestly the process of setting up the business account is not that much more difficult (if at all) than a premier or personal account. took just ten minutes to set up and four days for the bank account verification. I do like being able to have payments go straight from my website though, although I'd like to change the name the payments go to so they go to my own name rather than the business name. I'll probably have to set up a new account for that though, unless anyone knows otherwise?

I have a personal account for 2 years now. No problems with accepting payments and withdrawing money, as long as the payments are not done with credit cards.

I accidently switched to business once. After an email, they switched this back without a problem. You can only switch back once or twice.

I have 2 verified business accounts and one verified personal account.

Business account gives you more flexibility when doing business online..
like in personal account you can not accept payment directly from a credit card plus there is a limitation about the total transaction/month or/year..

Thank you everyone for your posts and i would like to verify with everyone i found out. Paypal advises you to change to bussiness if you are having 6 or more transactions a year, This is with your debit or credit cards. As i wont be putting money to send or keep via Debit or Credit. I am fine with a Personal Account so i will be trying to change back. When i do ill post. :D

    Thank you everyone

Their fees are a bit high and with 200 million people i think their a multi billion dollar company. Thats because they only need 5 dollars per person a year thats 1 cent a week per person. And they charge high fees:mad:

So can anyone help me in making the change back to personal before any more loss is made because of the bussiness account:mad:

    Thank you:D

you can continue to hold a personal account.. no fees are charged.. and keep working with fun. o yes, with business account, once you get limitation, Paypal might jerk up by saying "you need to provide a proof/license your buisness is running under"

so now if you dont have a license.. you are doomed!

dont take it too hard... continue to work with personal..

You can get another account and make it personal account to skip the fees.

Same here. So far its working fine for me. The personal account limit of $500 was preventing me from accepting payments really.. I had to make the switch. Didn't go full out business though..

I have a business account because my ebay activities exceeded the personal limit. I did not know you could have a personal account also - guess I'll check that out.
