There is no set answer to your question. Webmasters can make a lot of money and some don't make much at all. You can be a webmaster and not make any money at all.

Are you looking for a salary for a webmaster that is hired at a company? that can range anywhere from $25k-$100k per year if not more depending where you get the job and your skills.

If you're self-employed webmaster then you have to look at two things:
are you going to make sites for customers or are you working on your own sites and using affiliate programs to earn money?

You can easly sell a well designed website for a customer for couple thousand dollars. You can also create your own sites, put adsense, ypn, adbrite, or many other affiliate programs on it and earn money that way.
If you're creating sites just for yourself and then want to make money of them you also need to know how to market them.

There is no limit to what you can make as a webmaster, you can make from one dollar a month to thousands of dollars.

It's just takes time and effort to become a webmaster. You have to be really patient, but at the end it will be really worth it. Some people drop out in the middle of the line, others keep waiting and are making alot of cash.

If I was you I would go and read all of DP. :D

If you want to be a webmaster, that depends upon the way you think and the skill you have and what is the level of expertise. Webmasters can make a lot of money and some don't make much at all. You can be a webmaster and not make any money at all.

hah don't depend on that list for accuracy, in one of Shoemoney interview. He claim to be in the 20mil annual range (probably more now) yet the list say he make 120k annually.

There is no definite amount that can be considered good or perfect- depends on what you do and the place you live in. There is no limit to how much you can earn- but that totally depends on the amount of work you put in.

And how much have you progressed with regard to the target written in your avatar????

i haave been in the webmaster biz now for around 3 years, and finally i get the hang of it. after 3 years or reading, trying, reading more, trying more and trying even more to find a niche that suited my interests and wallet.

now, income is increasing steadily but the past 2 years i made only around $100 a month, through freelancing.

being a webmaster is like being a store owner. You can become a millionaire or you could end up earning nothing. Some earn just from their blogs while others bite the dust. Give a try and see what happens

There is nothing special about webmaster job and earning except it is just like any other job. You should love and enjoy doing the stuff related to webmasters. Once you do that money woulnt be a problem as long you are enjoying it.

The answer is that a webmaster can make in-between a few cents a month to $100,000. It all depends on the amount of success that person has with their websites, the amount of work that they put into it and a little bit of luck.

Its like asking how much does a rock weight.
Anyway, I used 1 1/2 year from my first web site until I made a living from it. (Working full time from day one)

At the moment I started I had some money in the bank that I spend for living. I did not spend money for any web stuff except hosting. And I played some concerts now and then, I am a musician.
