Should web directories be sorting their listings according to PR?

    You must have money to burn :D I sold 3 websites last week, had $1200....spent it all already......lord knows what you must spend on your directories!

    On the visitor point of view, PR or Alphabetic makes the more sense
    On the earlier submitter point of view, oldest first makes the more sense
    On the later submitter point of view, newest first makes the more sense
    On the directory owner point of view, bid order makes the more Return on Investment sense :)

    I do believe in using Google to accomplish what needs to be accomplished, but not necessarily have them in charge of my decisions. I think that overall the market decides. That would be the case if the bidding directory doesn't break simple rules such as "Don't add sites that didn't bid the amount they claim to".

    I don't believe PageRank or PR should even be mentioned on a directory as it looks like the directory was made to focus on PageRank.

    Good point, also listing by PR often gives a false impression of the real quality of the links, as a site selling a higher quality product may only have a low PR and a site selling shite could have a high PR.

    List by quality is always going to be the best way but it takes a lot of hard work checking out the sites contents to judge this.
