Hi all I know it's boring to read all this but please read this carefully before jumping into a wrong conclusion. I know some of you want to know how things are with the survey for DP directory owners. But first let me say about the news. Good news: It's possible for each candidate to "make it", getting on the list. Bad news: It's been taking lots of time because I had to cast some invalid votes out. Case 1: One person voted on "No" not knowing the other option "N/A". I am very positive those votes are invalid because he didn't vote on "N/A" at all. So I know he meant to choose "N/A", instead of his votes "No" to virtually almost all Case 2: Over 10 people chose "highly recommended" on themselves It's my fault that I didn't say you can't do this in the first release of the survey. But since the majority chose "N/A" on themselves, I had to discount those self-promo votes, sorry! Case 3: This was my fault also. I was using checkbox for each option in the first release, so 1 person actually chose both "highly recommended" and "yes" at the same time (not sure why). I counted his "highly recommended" votes only instead of "yes" votes. Now, here is one last thing I want to ask you all. Essentially, I'm asking you all to trust me the results I'm about to announce because I am in a way taking a risk by disclosing two things; 1. No stats on "who voted" This could cause a problem among people as that is NOT my intention. 2. No stats on the vote, "No" Ultimately, I couldn't know which ones are valid or invalid. I didn't even try to analyze too much as I value and respect each vote except the ones in Case 1 (see above). So far, no one has 4 No's yet. I hate to be in this position in a way, but I hope you understand that there is no "addition" or "subtraction" from the survey results. I thought this announcement would give people an idea how I've been doing with the survey, hoping people can "trust" my work and the list itself. Numbers in red (the top 18) - scored 30 or higher in positive points Names in blue - 10 votes or more on "highly recommended" Other facts: Everyone got a vote on "yes" at least once Only 5 (mystikmedia, onlinedude, an0n, britishguy, terryuk) got 25 or more votes on "highly recommended" 1 person was generous enough to vote on either "highly recommended" or "yes" only Some of the most respected ones haven't taken the survey yet It took several hours so far for all this If you don't see your name in the list, please know that this is based on total 60 survey results. Apology: I need to let you guys know the owner, ronmac's directory is submisisons.biz not submisisons.com, so please go visit his site and see if you think you need to correct the vote on him. *PM me for this. Take the survey: If you have taken the survey but didn't see "Thank you" message after hitting submit button, you must have missed at least one question. Please re-take the survey again. Remember, your honest vote makes the list quality, you DO NOT need to vote "highly recommended" on me (coolsitez)! (just in case...) Feedback welcomed.
wow, I'm 18th. Considering I have been in this "game" for only 3 months and that I have only one directory, I am quite pleased Coolsitez, you did a great job making this survey and compiling the data. Thanks
Taking this directory industry and directories seriously from past 2-3months. 41. humm hmmm not bad at all! You need to work hardly humm says the poll , Yes Sir! I promise to do so!
My report says must do better im happy that im even in the list, considering im new to running directories. Well i have an incentive to work harder, thats a tall ladder i have to climb, hehe Nice to see the results, thanks coolsitez
No Red or Blue, interesting. Been here longer than a lot of people on the survey and have a positive business relationship with many members. If you take a look at the top 30 or so, it shows either the most active, most outspoken, or heaviest promoters. I wouldn't say it accurately states the most trusted as many of the lower keyed members like myself have great reputations. Just my 2cents.
Well, First off well done to coolsitez for putting in so much time and effort into this project, it will give people a good idea who is trustworthy in the directory business.
I am flattered to see my name at #36 (Now #39) @coolsitez You have done a great job. I know that compiling these results is not easy & it takes lots of lots of time. So kudos to you for your efforts. Edited:: Seems like I am going down with new surveys .. That reminds me, I need to do more & more work
Thanks guys. I have just updated the list based on few new survey results. *Note: I'm not going to update in every survey result This is just to let you see how few survey results can change the rankings. Ultimately, I hope you wouldn't focus on the ranks too much. The fact is, most of us are pretty close. Many of them actually have same "positive points" (the combined number of "highly recommended" and "yes"). For example, there are 6 people who scored 27, 8 people are at 21. The order within the same points are sorted by alphabet You got more than 10 "highly recommended" now.
Coolsitez, I appreciate your hard work on the survey to get a general idea of the members here who often do business and do it well enough with others that they can be considered "trusted". However, the major thing we need to realize is we shouldn't make this list set in stone or base our transactions on it solely, as many people here have great reputation and may or may not have time to build it up as much as others. Blue, Red, or Black, I know who I can do business with here and who really are trustworthy, regardless of popular or monetary vote. It's really a case by case basis, and we usually find out as a community those to stay away from fast. In any case, compiling any survey has it's challenges and I really congratulate you on a well thought out, well done and interesting idea for this survey. Thumbs up and continue to contribute this stuff!
Good job coolsitez! I'm glad to see I'm in the list though I'm not in blue. I'll work harder and harder to get my name blue'd.
