The site may have a poor design but i don't think it has poor content. (Or may be I don't know much about NFL)

I "might" reject it on my Paid directory but will accept it on free directory.

PS. Being DMOZ listed doesn't make a site special. (At least not to me)

That's why directory owners should study editing first and have a crash course about the review process. Will give some POINTERS in my blog soon. Now take in consideration that is pointers and site reviews are based on individual sites and not in general. ;)

I will definitely accept a site based on Rich content. Designing has never been my forte--

I have seen lots of very good looking sites with crappy contents. The look of a design might vary from person to person. But contents should be the main criteria.

Yes there is useful content, but would you again visit such a site? or would you

bookmark it?(Since it is not presented in a way that will be more useful to

    visitors)

I am sure that a newbie would never visit such a site again as it will be very difficult to browse the content of the site!

    Not a problem.

    NFL Draft Dog.

I don't judge the usefullness of a site based on how the content is presented but rather the quality of the content itself.

I will ask about my directory to someone first, if he feels we both are crap why not continue being more crap :D

    -- aah sorry j/k

The content of the site is good, looking at the design and placement one must not judge always! ;)

I'm also unsure of what the PageRank of 4 and the dmoz listing have to do with whether or not someone would accept the site in their own directory; neither are criteria I consider. If a site is not penalized I could care less what the PR is. DMOZ has their own criteria and if a site is/isn't listed there makes no difference to me.

I agree with CReed and would have no problem listing. DMOZ listed plays no part, PR is a sales gimmick, unique rich content is what you should be looking for and that site has it.

yes, I would actually be glad to accept this site over some shitty 3 digit .com directory with 1000 categories which are all empty and 99% pages are in supplementals.

    hmm

the fact that it is dmoz listed does not matter to me... but the fact that the site has content will make me accept this site

Dmoz and PR are irrelevant, and I'm pleased to read the other people in this thread who agree with me.

I think that website seems fine, I would accept it (if I had a relevant directory, which I don't). The design may not be most people's definition of attractive, but it does serve the most important functions of not being distracting, and presenting the content in a clear and easily navigable manner. The important thing is that there is plenty of information, and it's grammatically correct and not full of typos.

The site in question was rejected by my bot due to absence of Meta tags

Then after adding meta keywords ,the site was accepted by the bot!
