Precautions to avoiding ban?

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by DMK, Jun 15, 2007.

I used google adsense last year for few months (made $15), then stopped promoting my website and parked it later.

Now I plan to use adsense again on a new forum.

Apart from their TOS, what are the tools I need to know for not getting banned?

I hear a lot about invalid clicks and google banning the account without notice. I want to avoid this and all other reason for which I can get banned.

So what precautions do I need to follow for a smooth functioning of adsense on my forum?

You could install Adlogger to track any fraudulent click activity.

Their definition of ‘invalid clicks’ is not solely someone clicking the advertisements multiple times, which is what the individual from that thread was preventing. I also sense that he hadn’t properly wrapped the Adsense code with the PHP snippet AdLogger provides to stop multiple clicks that you configure in your settings. Essentially, the point of using AdLogger is to have data available that could be forwarded to Adsense in an effort to prove your innocence. Otherwise, there is little concrete evidence that one can provide to prove that they were not at fault.

Check your account often and if it shows excessive clicks, contact Google through their report forms. I had over 2200 in one day and reported it right away and I got an email back in a few hours that said everything was taken care of and the account was in good standing.

You won't get banned if you follow the rules and don't do anything wrong. They can figure out when you cheat, so just be honest and you will be fine.

i agree..they got some gut instinct..some of my freinds got banned..but because they asked their' friends to click..even though discreetly..their properietary algorithm is very quick...

    and the ban follows..

I would just us a tool like asrep or the other one mentioned on this thread.

I would not worry too much about it. The following should give you some insight about a forum with PPC.

Ok thanks everyone, I get the idea now. So basically adlogger can also work as an evidence to prove my innocence in case of invalid/excess clicks.

I'll follow the rules and I'am not desperate to make money the illegal way either. All I'am worried about is if some moron who has no idea what adsense is goes clicking on my ads. Due to his foolishness I could get banned.

Alright, I did'nt know we had to report excess clicks to google. I'll keep a watch on the clicks. Thanks for letting me know.

I found out the problem already, you got to go the the left and click on the
link adlogger 1.4.0 zip file (don't click on the 'download now' button).. Well, i think it's a bad navigation, it should work when one clicks on download.
