So Cal WEMUG Meet Up A growing group of web entrepreneurs have been gathering at the So Cal WEMUG Meet Up. We will meet again on the last Sunday of June. Here's the plan: When: 3:00pm Sunday June 24, 2007 Where: Fox Sport Grille, Irvine Spectrum (map) What: A meet up to discuss the issues in the analog world that we normally discuss in webmaster forums. In previous meetings we talked about paid link ads, various shades of white hat SEO, quality content, social bookmarking, negative linking, arbitrage, and many other things. Who: Any and all web entrepreneurs that want to get together to talk shop. Bonus: Shoemoney (before you ask, no he isn't going to be there) has provided some giveaway goodies. I'll be there. Shall we go over a list of topics for the meeting? The last time I showed up I was a bit under-organized, but maybe if we each spent some time going over a thing or two that we had expertise in it could spawn some more in depth conversations.
Glad to here you're back. But I am sorry to say we won't have any Shoemoney logo'ed diapers to give away. Topics sound good. I talked about arbitrage before but could kick start discussion on Adsense, Adwords, and testing. I'd suggest that we discuss what our favorite tools SEO, SEM, rankings, etc. Also, what are the good directories to be listed in. I was kind of souring on the idea of directories but was convinced to some extent that they have value (maybe just to bots) and have a future. What's your suggestions?
I'm thinking a discussion about Content Management platforms would be good - from WordPress/MT to Dreamweaver or other ones. What works best, what our experiences are - and what features are most useful/important. Maybe we could post an idea a day in this thread and run through the list at the meeting. Some topics could end up being just quick discussions, but it's always interesting to hear what you guys have to say.
I'm in Tampa, was wondering how many Dp'ers were from my neck of the woods. It would be nice to meet up with several from DP here.
I'm going to TRY to be there. It's a bit tricky to say for certain, because we're painting my mother's house for her birthday that day. But I think I can get my sisters to understand why I need to run off early.
