A Good way to report Chargeback/SCAM to PayPal!

    Hello All,

I was trying to work out a way to catch scammers and found out how an innocent person can be approached emotionally/professionally to eventually enter in a scam. The Instant Messenger Client!

Most of the time, people chat and get convinced to enter in a PayPal SCAM. Later, you find chargebacks which basically means that you have lost the money.

I tried several messenger clients and found PidGin(Read more about PidGin) formerly known as GAIM a better IM client with an easy to use interface.

You can enable logging to track down every conversation with anyone you chat with. We, normally chat with many people and its not possible to track all the conversation so we end up closing the chat windows at the end of day or sometime, it gets closed by itself.

With PidGin, whenever you chat with same person the next time, you shall see all the previous chats conversations in a very well preserved format. It looked as if you have never closed the chat with a friend/scammer since the last time.

Now coming back to use this IM client to catch a scammer!

If the scammer is a member of DigitalPoint forums, then you should first ask for him/her DP USERNAME. Next, ask them to post on your thread clearly stating the purpose which involves money, including his/her PayPal ID and transaction ID(s).

Now, you should be clear in your discussion on IM as every word will be recorded by PidGin. Learn the Paypal ID of the other party with whom you will transact and clearly mention the purpose once again. (This is to double check the integrity of transaction you are about to commit.)

If you get chargeback the very next day, send the Chat screenshots along with the logs to PAYPAL and they will take the right decision in your favor especially when you have the proof (DP thread/post with Transaction ID, saved Chat).

Another way of Scamming using PayPal: Remember, if you are asked to refund, make NO Mistake in refunding from the same PayPal account you accepted the money from the buyer/seller. Under whatsoever pressure, NEVER Agree to refund from a different PayPal account as PayPal would NOT entertain any proof of refund NOT made from receiving account.

I gathered this information after thorough study of how we can avoid getting into a scam and wanted to share it with all members.

I am open to any feedback

    Kind regards,
    RugbyMan

Chargebackers with Paypal always win, always.
I can buy a Plasma TV tomorrow on Ebay with my CC, get the TV and chargeback. I'll ALWAYS get the TV and the money.
The seller will lose the money, even if he send the proper paperwork.
I'm 100% positive and I can prove that at anytime to anyone...

A chargeback is like a slap in the face you're giving to the seller. If a chargeback has 100% chance of success, why don't we all chargeback after every transaction?

It happens 3 times tome before. Each time I think I'll do it also, at least, just to recoup my lost. But I guess you need to be bad inside to do it...but still thinking about it...

I have read on the internet that any these IM archived conversations are valid in the eyes of court when filiing a lawsuite against anyone who cheated you..

and since most of the internet users have multi-IM messenger i found pidgin being good enough to popup all the previous chats you have with a user if he/she pings you again ..

agreed in Yahoo we can save chat logs but we need to open the file to find out what we have discussed before..

whereas pidgin will show you right there within the conversation windows itself..

    try it..

I fought. I sent signed receipt. I faxed postal proof. And it was an Ebay item.
I lost. 3 times. Crime does pay on Ebay/Paypal...
