so many scammer threads...

threads involving scams can be found here in general chat, the underground and buy sell trade. maybe its time to have a separate area for these types of posts. the only way to know whats being said on this subject is to browse the entire forum.

i haven't been throughout the entire forum yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if scam threads were in other parts as well.

Yeah there are a lot of scammer threads going around. But if there were a sub forum, most people would miss seeing them so I think the way it is now is good enough. It makes people think twice about doing business on DP.

If DP was to create a sub forum, they would be basically admitting there is a fraud problem on this website which may deter potential new users to this great green site.

I agree we need to name and shame scammers but dedicating an entire forum to them might give the impression that they are the norm rather than the exception. The odd thread in GC makes more impression because it's be surrounded by popular threads in a popular forum - if scammers are buried in a forum of their own some people just won't bother looking at it.

So you mean that if you're a scammer you have to post in a new category called 'Fraud Trades' so that everyone knows up front that they are going to be ripped off? :D

Yeah.. I think it's good to have that section and make it exclusive for DP members only. Like the underground section. :D

Don't we already have the QBC?

It's sad to see more scam threads, however its due to there being more scammers...

I think it is fine the way it is, we need to know about the scammers, but we also do not need to make DP look like it has a scammer problem. My biggest problem is when the same person starts two or more threads about the same thing plus post about it in other threads. A large part of the scamming problem is in the greed of the person being scammed. You see some scams and you just want to say, "What in the frig is wrong with you ."

People in general need to realize that they are not going to get a deal that is way to good to be true. I just seen one where someone put a site that made $40,000 in 8 months and the starting bid is make an offer. I would not touch that one with a ten foot pole!

Are you suggesting that DP does NOT have a scammer problem?

Nope but I believe there are more honest people than there are scammers. And even you have to agree with me that a lot of the scams are because the person being scammed is just plain greedy!:)

16 posts so far and not one link to an example of a scam thread. I think having a scam section on DP would be great but something tells me that it's harder to identify a scam on here than it's not, otherwise wouldn't there be some definite examples in this thread by now?

The way things are going here, one thread or even one forum isn't enough. There are scammers and spammers everywhere at DP now - they seem to outnumber the real people these days. And yes, you know who you are!

It might be simpler just to set up a forum titled "No spamming or scamming allowed" and rigidly enforce that area. Then I could hang out there in peace. :)
