Please Review my How to Stop Global Warming website

So in response to all of the global warming issues and news, I decided to make a website on this topic. After tons of redesigning, I thnk I got it nearly perfect now.

I want reviews and suggestions on everything, including color, layout, content, etc. Thanks!

 

wow! i like the colors that you used. it blends well with your site and its content. you can do better on the picture with the (is that orange or peach?)

Design: It's nice and simple although I would maybe put a black line or something to separate the menu and the header where it says "Main Menu", other then that its very nice. Not too much bad things to say about this site.

Content: It's very nice to see someone making sites about improving the environment. Your content is very clear, readable and to the point. I'm sure your site will do great!

What do you guys think about adding google's adsense to this site? Would it take away from the legitimacy of the site? I honestly just want to pass along good information to people, but money is short these days, and I just cannot keep paying for hosting and domain fees, so I need to make some income from this site. I am waiting for my PR to jump so I can put TLA on here. So, shoudl I or should i not put adsense on here?

 

Quite a few informative sites ad in adsense and they're legitimate. What I would suggest is to ad in only one small unit in your pages to keep things discreet. Don't overload your site with ads..

Where do you suggest placing adsense? I was thinkin to put it in the bottom of the index page right under the "our mission" and "recent headlines"?

My thoughts:
-I really don't like the heading graphic. Get something a little more distinctive
-I don't think you need such a large graphic under the site name. Maybe you can crop it height-wise
-At the very bottom there is an unknown character displayed. I assume it was a copyright symbol. Instead just type "Copyright 2007 Mission Environment"
-I don't think you should do adsense. It isn't going to pay off in your case very well. Some well placed affiliate links or sponsored advertising will pay off better.

Due to popular demand, I installed a forum. Can you check it out and give me some feedback please? Link is http://www.missionenvironment.com/forum/ and the link has also been added to the menu.

I fixed everything except the header. I am still getting mixed reviews on how to handle the top pic and logo. I will mess around with some possible replacements, but for now it is staying.

try to use SMF or vbulletin for your forum. Php bb will give you a lot of headaches with spam

 

Nice. I like the green effect, but maybe you could work a little at the header.

 

Never heard of SMF. Vbulletin is a little too much for my budget right now. I have a lot of spam protection built in and hopefully it will protect me for the time being.

New header image. How do you like it? Be honest because I have one more that could be a possibility too.

 

I like the header image a lot, plain, sleek, and definitively catches the eye... For a second you're almost waiting for something to appear over the wind turbines...

I noticed there isn't a black border above the green background-colored headers; is this intended to be like that?
