Is AdSense really worth it?

I am starting to look at it this way after checking out other options like Clickbank and other ways of advertising.
If I have, let's say, 5000 visitors to my site and 15-20% clicks on the google ads I might get about 100 bucks a day. It's not bad, but if you look at the other options I only have to "sell" 4-5 things from clickbank on a day to make the same kind of money.
Getting 3-4 cents for a click is kinda' worthless
Anybody who knows of a software where you can track what ad people have clicked on so I could track the most popular click/search?

"and 15-20% clicks" - That is just dream. You mean 1.5-2.% right? It is a lot easier to get someone to click a button than to actually make a purchase. It really depends on your niche and the quality of traffic you are getting.

it's like joke. if you get the same ctr on google adsense, you may get great money from adsense.

you can use adlogger to track your adsense

To some it may be a joke but if I could (TOS) I'd show you the numbers.
My AdSense CTR is high but like I said, 3-4 cents a click doesn't give much.
If Adlogger can track what people click, then it might be a better option to get some good advertisers that sell something people are interested in.
Maybe I could check out the site people go to by clicking to see if they have something to sell?

well i focus on mortgages and loans, and the pay is almost never less than $1. . .otherwise yeah, it would be worthless. I use cj for my main income - and other affiliate programs.

    $100 a day is still $3000 a month.

i don't like click bank , they seem very low quality for affiliate products. Adsense has a better reputation.

The only good thing with clickbank is that they pay pretty good. I tried CJ for a while but people didn't seem interested even if was the right target group.
One day people will get "AdSense" blind just like they did with banners and our income will vanish. So then what do we do? Membership sites? Paying to see no ads :) Id' pay 10 bucks a month for No AdSense on sites.......

it's way easier to get clicks than sales.. at our site we get most of our earnings via clicks (Adsense & Kontera), but we also get $400-$600/month in CJ and CB sales.. I say use 'em all, not just one or the other..

and as for tracking clicks, Adlogger (at least the version i use) does not tell you what the ad was that was clicked - only that you got a click; and it's not 100% accurate..

The only way to know what will work on your specific site is to test. Try as many programs as you can and see what works best. No one can tell you what will work on your site.

Why not just put both on your site, i.e. both clickbank and adsense?

Well adsense is usefull when you have high traffic and all visitors of your website is youngsters like game websites or so, but CJ or clickbank is more usefull if you get to your site right peoples who are really interested in that!

Using both forms of advertiosing is the ideal way. I think some niches are more conducive to adsense while others are more to affilites.

Why do you think 20% is not possible.

I have had 20% CTRs, when the going was good on some sites.

One site gives 10% + every month.

Check last month's CTR on on of my sites
