is it just me or does anyone else do this? on occasion when i get bored i email the scammers back getting their hopes up all in the name of fun.

Central Bank of Nigeria: We will give you $15,152424,532532,23535 if you pay us $500.

Me: HOLY SHIT! hell yeah, can we meet up in person, i'll give you $10,000 if you fly over here.

Do a google search for 419eater, their site is a great resource for baiting the nigerian scammers.

I've never personally done one, but I have read the stories on the site and skimmed their forums a bit. It's insane the amount of crap these scammers will go through to get some money from you.

This is what you should say :

You: Sorry, a bit busy right know. However I need to send some money over there, to Nigeria, so if you gave me $500 I could send the money over and give you a little bit of money. About $36'012'157'129'456'183'457'492'473 or so.

Them: HOLY SHIT! *Trying to Calm Down* *Deep Breathe* Ahh not so sure whether my-

You: Add 12 more zero's to that figure.

Them: Sure so what was the account again.

    LOLS:D

Well, I had received a similar Nigerian based email saying that they intend to transfer million of dollars in my bank account and that they will give me a commission for that. Also one email said that I won an online lottery and that they need to transfer the $$$ into my account.etc etc. They wanted me to furnish all my private details.

Hey, it's an investment. It's just as smart to invest in Nigerian bankers as it is in penis enlargers.

    LOL!

But seriously it's amazing how many people actually fall for this scam and eagerly send over their account numbers, cell phone numbers, etc.

I would never dream of doing any scambaiting myself :p though I've heard some interesting accounts from my, ahem, friend.

Of course you should remember that just because a scammer is in Nigeria, Russia or Holland (yeah, the Dutch ones are the worst) doesn't mean to say they don't have friends living near you... be careful!
