Directory owners you may have encountered many spam websites and many submissions in your directory both free and paid

    Post the spam websites here

As I wish to see how a website is considered as spam from each person's perspective

I am asking this as I see some as good sites but sometimes those good sites are also considered spam by others

A bit unsure of what you are asking, but do you mean sites that seem to be "bots" and spam random sites to you, just to get ranking?

For the most part with the spammy submissions I never actually see the site.

Their submissions are so out of conformance with my TOS and have keyword stuffed descriptions and titles that I just delete them outright.

When I say spam, sometimes what I really mean is lazy submitters who haven't bothered to read the guidelines, and not necessarily automated submissions. So spam is going to be different for each directory, depending on what the niche is and what the individual guidelines are. For me it's spam if it's off-topic for my directory and the submitter has completely ignored what it says on the add-url form. So my spam may be someone else's tasty meat snack.

It is easy to deal with off topic spams as we can simply find out indexing a url's meta tags and decide whether the site has been submitted to correct category or not!

That will probably rule out a lot of decent websites, depending on how strictly you enforce this. A lot of webmasters completely ignore meta tags, either because they don't know about them or because they don't have any relevance in the major search engines any more.

Meta tags are very important to search engines!

A site which has no meta tags will be less visited by search engines!

Yes, you're right, but as Obelia said, there is a lot of webmasters with great content sites who don't know much about SEO and some of them know nothing about meta tags.
And you can't say that because they don't have proper meta tags they are spam sites...

I am not saying they are spam sites

Day by day there is a lot of websites coming up and the competition is immense such that one is trying to outdo others

If webmasters adhere to these set of standards this is beneficial to search engines as well as them!

You're kidding, right? Major SE's like Google haven't been using them for years.

Metas still do have some benefit, mostly because they get used by directories in the submission process. So there is still some correlation between having correct metas and getting search engine traffic, but it's slight.

Yahoo is a major SE and it uses Metas in its search algorithm.
