I am currently putting my company together and I have come across a problem..My company provides clients with computers as they are under contract with me. Some of these company's work outside on the beach, near water, etc. I am looking for the best type of computer for them so I am not required to provide a lot of maintenance on the computer and they aren't having problems running the internet(main application they use) on them. If yo have any suggestions, comments, ideas please let me know before I go off and buy a bunch of the wrong laptops

Sony VAIO provide very high quality computeres. HP is pretty good too! Dell is somewhat cheap :p

Mac's are excellent but I'm not sure if it'll work well for your company as it's more difficult to get technical support for it (since it's not as popular as windows computers) and less people are familiar with it.

You'll have no problem with the Macs. They are a little bit more expensive than other laptops but it's definitely worth it considering their build quality.

Oh and, don't touch Dell. You'll soon be sending them back for repair!

Dell is great for me so far. I've bought 2 notebooks and a desktop from them and I love their warranty. So far none of the notebooks or desktop broke down at all and they have been working for the last 3 to 4 years flawlessly.

    Their prices are great too.

dell has accidental coverage policies that are amazing. You'll get parts next day for self-repairs, and you can request on site service if you have to.

I believe what he means is that you have to pay for the extended warranty cover when you purchase the PC from Dell. Pretty much like what you do with any other computers in the first place.

Yup, thanks eddy2099, thats it and most people pay unnecessary money to Dell. Dell are smart, they would not have that service if they didnt profit on it.

I bought a cheap Dell laptop last year and it was horrible. You can tell its cheaply made by just feeling it. I also know of many horror stories.

Well, you basically have the option not to opt for it. It is not like Dell is the only company which offers extended warranty. But Dell has the most comprehensive cover for those who needs them.

I remember purchasing from Acer and HP before and they all asked if I wanted to opt for the extended warranty. It is a great option just in case you need it.

If you purchase laptop, usually if anything goes wrong, you need to go back to the manufacturer. However this is not so true for desktop where you can get your own replacement parts.

When I bought my latest Dell notebook, they asked if I wanted to get the extended warranty and I declined as I told them that my experience shows that Dell hardware has been very reliable and I never needed the warranty. Of course, they say that I could opt for the extended warranty any time before the basic one is up so that is not too bad.

I'd suggest you go with a basic MacBook. The price isn't too bad considering they will mostly be used for the internet anyways.
