Okay I bought a site a few days ago- see thread attached. It was advertised as a site making 13-15 a day. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=359233 I assumed I was doing my due diligence, I asked for adsense info- recieved showig site made $441 in May with 130k plus in traffic, I asked for March- April stats showed 170k plus traffic and $656 earnings, I asked for June- showed this month traffic 35k with $85bucks earnings. I asked if ay advertising was being done if so how much, how often site was updated- told once a month or so- No advertising done. Asked why it was being sold so low- was told needed the money- was selling all sites within a week- The buy/sell threads show a few other sites being sold cheaply by the seller. He seemed irritated by all these questions I was asking and traffic shots seemed to produce no results- I looked up and mentioned Alexa but assumed most of the viewers probably didn't use the toolbar. Ever since buying the site- it has made a total of 5 bucks combined for all days and 1k of traffic, I questioned the seller and he's been MIA since the question two days ago- yesterdays earings- $1.50. I have made absolutely no change to the site whatsoever. Am I just screwed here- Any recourse?
If you think you've been misled you can leave negative iTrader. That's about it really. You took a big risk buying a $1k site from a member with such an unknown trading reputation.
yes this is the best idea, contact to the paypal and explaing them. They are late in reply but you'll get solution for the same. if possible they may get you money as well, if not withdrawn till date.
Yeh, you could file a complaint. Report to mods. And naturally in the future check Alexa stats and use stuff like seomoz.org to check links etc. And if seller seems irritated - drop the deal off.
I'm not sure if filing a claim with PayPal will do much good - usually they'll turn back and say they can't do anything as you're dealing with digital goods. Definitely keep on it though. I'd personally ask the seller for a refund first - if they refuse, say that you'll take the matter further.
Its a Scam ... he scammed u for sure... Checkout the Whois info of the domain its a US Registration and where as this guy is Indian AFAIK Do a Paypal Chargeback give the Thread URL to...
I don't think there is anything you can do, you should of consult some of the senior members before buying from him. Anybody would of told you that this is a big scam, but ofcourse probably greed got to you. Sorry for your lose.
Well it wasn't greed because I honestly thought I did my due diligence and the guy was even helping me after the fact with setting up the site.
Anyway today you have learn an important lesson in life, don't worry too much about it. There is nothing you can do now except accept ur lose.
that's somewhat a huge amount of money. Sorry to hear that. These guys will learn their lesson soon...
Looks like an identical thread to the above one. Surely they should be banned if theyscam people http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=3430131#post3430131
bah!!! do u expect anyone to forget about $899 thats not easy to earn money Ya if it were $50 $100 then it was fine but $800+ is good amount of money there shld be someway by which u can get the money back think over it
If you can't get the money back then move on, don't stress your self.. $900 isnt going to kill you, and paypal can't get any more useless than it already is. Well good luck anyways.
If your CC in any way was involved in the transaction, just make a charge back to the CC company and you will get the money back. Always do big purchases with CC, VISA or something like that. Then you cannot lose your money if you dont get what you was promised.
