I got 2 websites with ads. They are both with different channels. My first website is http://www.rapidmaker.eu.tt/ My second website is http://www.google-site-map-maker.tk/ Is the second website violating google's rules? And is there good content for adsense. Thanks in advance, Xbo
Oh oke thnx, That's the answer I was searching. TY But is there enough content in my second website: http://www.google-site-map-maker.tk/
Let us talk about google-site-map-maker.tk first. About eight months ago Google had emailed me not to serve any Adsense ads at my AdsenseForDummies.com because like the word Google (obviously), Adsense, For Dummies are trademarks. If you think I'm bluffing, you email them for a confirmation.
A lot of people don't realize that you can really get in hot water if you use a trademarked name in a URL. Not just the domain name either, even just an HTML page with it can get you into trouble. While a lot of companies don't really police the internet for this stuff, some of them do and some might go so far as to have your hosting account shut down! At the very least you might get a scary letter from their lawyer. It seems like insurance companies are really hot for this sort of stuff. Apparently G takes notice but simply asks you to remove ads which is a lot nicer than shutting down your account! But to really answer your actual question, it looks like there is enough content to me!
..cashcow I have to admint, you scared the hell out of me a little. I have this URL as a blog http://www.kavoir.com/adsense/ Is this ok with Adsense in the URL?
Sorry, didn't mean to panic anyone. I've never used trademarks in URL's personally, but the others I know who have have received a letter from a lawyer telling them to stop using it. Then once the URL is removed you are OK. If they can't contact you, they could probably contact where your site is hosted and take action that way (that's probably what happened to the person that had their hosting shut down). Anyway, I think some companies are just trying to protect their trademark and they don't want to cause harm, just want you to stop using it. I'm not sure if google would take offense to your url with the adsense in it. It's not in the domain name like ainmohd's was but if they only asked to not serve adsense on there perhaps they would just do the same to you (if they care or even noticed). I'm not a lawyer or an expert in these matters just spouting off what I have heard has happened to other folks. I would hate to see someone put a lot of work into a domain or page that had a trademarked name on it and then have to throw it all away. I actually did have a similar thing happen to me with a product I sold on ebay - it was a giant blue heart necklace like the one on Titanic (this was years ago when the movie first came out). I was selling it as "Heart of the Ocean - Titanic Blue Heart" or something like that. Next thing I know I get a cease and desist letter from a lawyer - scared the crap out of me! They said I couldn't use the word Titanic or "heart of the ocean" as those were trademarked. I had no idea about any of this trademark stuff! So I had to stop all my auctions. Took me years to get rid of all those blue heart necklaces!
It seems ok but i think you need permission from Google to have it floating in the sidebar (that is assuming you modified their code)
So if you are right then around about 90% - 98% or more of sites are using trademarked names in their sites. The Search Engines are the main suspects, plus product price comparison sites for listing the sites where the products come from.
i think you are not allowed to have adsense or google name in your domain. this may be agaisnt the adsense tos. write and email to the adsense team
Probably. Again, a lot of companies don't enforce. You'd think they'd be happy about price comparisons and product review sites since that might lead people to buy their products. Of course if you gave it a bad review, they might not like that! Plus I believe, it's only a problem if you are using their trademarked name for your own financial gain. Of course, I could be wrong about any of this - I'm not an expert. Plus you probably should take stuff you hear on a forum with a grain of salt anyway!
simply ask the adsense people. They wont ban your account, they would just say that it is against the rules and ask you to remove the ads. if you have an adsense account, you can blog about YPN without getting banned, and vice versa.
