I am trying to figure out how this site has gotten 20,000 links according to Yahoo. The site is not that old and I know these sites aren't just choosing to link to this site. The site is metalbuildingdepot.com. Anyone know how to acquire thousands of links like that?
You can buy them on text-link-ads; if your inbound links go up by thousands overnight, it will not sit well with Google so be careful (if you hope to get organic search traffic that is.)
Yeah... but it looks like these guys are getting mostly relevant links. I didn't think text-link-ads had relevant links for an industry like that.
Have you notice if those are 20.000 UNIQUE back links, i.e. 20.000 links from 20.000 websites? If you check on Yahoo, it will count as backlink even links from one single forum and all the inner pages of the forum. Now, if a forum has 20.000 indexed pages, and you get a sidewide link from that forum in Yahoo it would count as 20.000 backlinks. Just trying to figure if that site has 20.000 backlinks from ALL different sites.
i dont suggest you to grow so fast in a short time. i have done it. my site get pr 6 in a short time but it's sandboxed now
yes, as Trapped mentioned, they could have many links from the same sites including several sitewides - try filtering those links and then see the new number of links - if the number is still 20,000, they could be doing a little bit of blackhat/greyhat or probably following an agressive whitehat link building strategy
In my experience, sitewide links on large sites don't help and may get you sandboxed. I prefer to buy single page links on good sites. But we don't know for sure how Google works so I could be wrong.
things change every month, sometimes everyday at google, but I had just a blogroll of my own sites sitewide on all my sites, and two of the sites had 30K+ pages (so there were 60K+ of the same links), and it helped me for like one month, then google penalties or sandbox all around most/many of my sites.
http://www.johnchow.com/spammer-make-fools-of-google/ I read the post and it shows that he has about 6,000 websites, set up in templates, with duplicate content, and many pages on each site. Then he has sitewide links on each of those sites. The sites are urls like...kansasmetalsbuildings dot com, kansas-metal-buildings dot com (and the same for each and every state). The people in the link above investigated this and explained it in great detail.
The john chow post is a month old and they're still #1 for metal buildings. I'm sure G is just tweaking their algo so the next refresh will take care of it. G prefers to do things organically (via algorithms) rather than specifically adjusting things for specific cases.
I believe this guy is smart and earned $$$$. 6k domain costs much less than 6k*8=$48K, the hosting is much less. So, it costs him less than $100k considering he has to set all these up. Search google "metal buildings" (no "), he is #1. check http://www.freekeywords.wordtracker...gs&suggest=Hit+Me&adult_filter=remove_dubious everyday, it has 1716 searches for "metal buildings". And this is just one keyword. Guess how many he can sell in one month! I wish I can do this, and it also says: there is still much space for a better search engine! bear
Sitewide links will get you a ton backlinks quickly. I hear that search engines are cracking down on sitewide links. The dillemma is that these links provide the highest exposure for an advertiser and are therefore the best source for direct traffic. To the extent that search engines tolerate buying text links for the sole purpose of direct traffic, I don't see why they should be going after these links, unless they want you to stop buying links and use their PPC services instead.
Well probably like i got like 25k backlinks for funny stuff https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.c....net&bwm=i&bwms=p&bwmf=u&fr=sfp&fr2=seo-rd-se Hard work (8 months) webdirectory submissions articles exchanging links sidewides
