Is it legal for me to start my own video game web site - like without the permission from sony, microsoft, and nintendo? I want to write reviews and put screenshots and art of the games and maybe make some signs, icons and avatars for forums using characters like sonic and mario. i love video games and want to express my passion for them this way, but i dont want to get in trouble. is that legal?
Yea you won't have any troubles there are hundreds of them like Wii.tv gonintendo.com and PS3geeks.com and none of them have troubles.. Actually nintendo sponsors gonintendo and wii.tv. I have gaming sites myself they are in my sig and haven't been confronted once.
oh ok cool. thanks a lot for your reply Smithers! i was thinking about the point you mentioned especially since all i would be doing is expressing myself and providing, pretty much, free advertisements for games hmm..btw its ok if i put banners like google adsense right? heh.. making a few $$$ from having fun is what its all about... i mean almost all game sites have ad banners on them so it should still be legal..?
Yea definetly allowed your advertising games and are selling their games if you make money while doing it, it shouldn't be a problem I make money while doing the same as you. When you get the site up send me a URL and ill get some members from my gaming sites to check it out.
