only in duel core, not in single cpu.

2gig of ram in minimum needed, opt for 4gig if you can

To me AMD and Intel both have good CPU's. I like Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, and Intel for motherboards. Get at least a gig of memory and 200gb of hard drive.

As for me i think you should not buy Vista Basic. I think buying XP professional is much wiser way to go. It will give you much more options for less money and will require less memoery and so on. If you are not looking for last media features then XP is way to go. I think it isn't time to switch to Vista now yet

Here's my advice... try visiting a computer center, or a friend who knows about the hardware.. then from there, tell him/her/them, what you're computer is intended for... then ask them to give you the specs... and finally, go assemble one...
From that, you have a computer that fits you're needs with a reasonable price, bcoz you already got rid with those items that could cost you much, but not really useful...

But if you have all the money... then go for the best computer that you can find around town! :)

You should add a thumb drive with 4GB, then you will also be able to utilize the RAM Booster that VISTA has the feature. You will get around 30% or more with speed.

Whatever you buy make sure you don't get Vista on it, probably half of your programs won't work.

Just build it. Most big companies just rip you off. Even when you get a "deal" the "deal" is your PC is filled with crap hardware.

This is very true. The reason your getting such a good price is because your computer has a lot of low budget peripherals.

Video and sound should never be on the motherboard. I don't know why every motherboard maker now wants to add them to there boards.
