I doubt education, higher living standards or laws against guns would stop someone from killing with rocks for religious/cultural beliefs.

 

this has but one effect, it sends a message to all females,
"this is what you are worth. My daughters you can get this if you not do as i say, you mean nothing to me, you are a burden to me, i allow you to live as long as you do not disobey me. your sisters will not help you, they will get the same, your mother will not help you, she will get the same. you mean nothing to me, i have no love for you, you are worthless"

How sad it is, that you have to do that, to keep the woman bought/was paid to have as your wife, and then have no love for your Daughters.

Religion is root to all evil, that is a fact for sure.

I could not watch that video, it is just too sickening. I can only imagine the suffering that the girl was going through and of course the joy and cheer of the crowd.

The Quran does not mention stoning as a punishment for adultery and indeed very few Muslim countries have that practice in place. However the Islamic tradition does call for stoning and that where the danger is coming from.
Orthodox views maintain that the tradition (hadith) can also establish laws and therefore it is considered as valid addition to the Quran. Unfortunately those views are supported by the majority of scholars .

Perhaps, Mohammed was only reinstating the old Jewish laws in the torah, believing that it was god’s laws.

May be he was inspired by these verses from the Old Testament:


Stonning punishment for non virgin women

Stoning virgin women for adultery.

Sadly though only some Muslims are keeping this brutal laws alive

 

You are all so naive, how many sh*t is happening in the world, and I bet there are younger ppl being raped/ killed / whatever by their parents, the only difference is in one case it gets a world-media coverage, and in the another it doesnt make it to the news.

P.S: A few russian so called skin-heads (russian extremists & racists) killed a 13 year old tadjik (muslim) girl in St. Petersburg. Guess, what, only one of them got in jail, and only for 6 years if I remember. Did you hear about that? No.
