Got a sudden surge of traffic, how can I figure out how?

One of my sites has consistently been getting about 2,000 page impressions a day with a CTR just about 1%. Today I check and it has over 30,000 page impressions and a CTR of over 3%.

I've looked at the stats and can't seem to figure out what's going on? It looks like a lot of hits from AOL search but I doubt it could account for that much. The website topic has not been in the news lately either when traffic goes up slightly. I'm not complaining and I hope it continues but i'd like to get a better idea of the source. Is there anything else I can look at? I use statscounter and google analytics but analytics isnt updatd until tonight.

Congrats for the increased traffic flow :) You should be able to find the reason in your Cpanel -> Awstats..

You should go through Awstats /statcounter or whatever means you have available. Having a sudden rise of this amount may lead to flags being raised at google with your adsense.

I have Google Analytics and Statscounter and after looking at the stats, it is definitely coming from AOL search but I still don't know why or what I should do, if anything.

From June 8th to June 10th
    google (organic) 792 58.54%
    yahoo (organic) 190 14.04%
    aol (organic) 108 7.98%

    June 11th
    aol (organic) 16,519 96.12%
    google (organic) 340 1.98%

Don't do anything. You haven't done anything wrong. Enjoy it. ;)
Also, for more up to date stats and better interface, I recommend Clicky. I love it.

Dont touch your keywords, dont change anything SEO wise with the site. With those stats, Id just let it go.
