Contest For A Social Bookmarking Site?

What type of contest would one use to promote a social bookmarking site?

Contest on here DP, or contest for visitors on the site?

 

I want a contest to give users an incentive to post content on a social bookmarking web site like digg.

I need ideas on the types of contests that would work on a social bookmarking site.

 

Maybe a friends contest? Like the myspace users that just browse looking to add people all day.

 

Set up a MOST FRIENDS contest. They have to reach over a certain threshold to qualify though.

 

Those are great ideas. I will keep those in mind.

How about whoever has the most post gets a gift..that would keep coming back

 

offer some prizes like hosting, some domains, cash, even 1 month hosting (use hostgator and get it for 1c )

 

this is better idea, i usually market new things at myspace.com and always get good results.

hmm, if you relly plan to go big, launch it on newspapers, local radios

 

iPods or other cool gadgets might be good premiums to offer for the contest.

 

Contest for cash , the only way to go.
