Do you accept "Work at home" sites into your directories? any sort of stigma around these sites? im only asking as i have little understanding regarding some sites. If you run one of these sites please dont be offended, rather educate me about them. If you dont accept them please state why and feel free to add any other in your reject list, not the obvious ones that we all avoid though. thanks pipes
Yes, sure. You can add Work at Home category or you can add this category under Small Business, if you wish
I only add them if they actually have some quality content and not just affliate links Some of the WAH sites are legit and a few affliate/ad links would do no one harm For that matter any approval depends on the quality of content for quicker reviews, in case of financial service site i only approve them if they have a direct mailing address
I see no problem in accepting them as long as they do not violate the guidelines I cited on my directories. I do not accep --completely MFA sites. Other than that --I judge th quality myself -and then do accordingly. I even have specific categories for those sites in some of my directories. But no MFA and NO Completely Affiliate.
vegabond, good idea, either of those would suit. MeetHere mostly my own lack of knowledge making me ask first, just to be sure. kiviniar, i agree, definately il check their quality. jhnrang, agreed, thats what im thinking too, as long as their not plastered with affiliate ads and are actually of use to users.
If its a site with good content, and not full of google ads, sure ill accept it, but, if its not in the right category ill move it.
Cool, now that i see their ok sites im happy to add that category. Nothing suggested to me that they were not good sites but purely a lack of understanding of them makes me ask a few questions first.
I like ASK's approach. There are so many "Work from Home" scams around that many, at least in the US, view them all with suspicion. It is a challenge for someone looking for alternative income to weed through them to find the honest offers from the ones that never pay, regardless of how professional and put together their site may be. If it were my directory, I would also put a disclaimer on that page to indicate that <Your Directory Name> does not endorse any specific product or service blah blah blah - something like the newspapers are now doing in the classifieds section.
Thats good advice, thanks YMC, i think putting a disclaimer in place is good and to help protect the potential visitors too who may find their sites.
