Just wondering how people rate Squidoo after the few months it's really been up and running. I know there is another thread discussing whether people will start selling high PR "lenses". I am wondering if anyone made ANY money through Squidoo? I started a few test lenses just to see, my main one being about growing avocado from seed (just for fun, NOT my main activity in life!). This one doesn't have a huge amount of traffic, probably 50 or so visits a week, and I have made a grand total of....: $2.63!!! No idea what from, whether it is just a share of the Adsense revenue, or what. Anyway, my impression is, unless you hit a really good niche, there is not much to be actually earned from Squidoo. It is WAY too much work for not much return - you would be better off working on your own site. If you really want backlinks, go register yourself another domain! Also I cannot be bothered to keep updating the lens, especially with the fancy AJAXy interface being way too slow... All in all, I can't see myself spending THAT much time on my lenses in the future... What do other people reckon?
I agree that Squidoo interface is extremely slow, you get a lot more traffic than I do. But there are few other free options for marketing websites
I think Squidoo is way too much overestimated. You're not going to make any serious money with Squidoo. You're not going to drive any serious traffic to your other sites with Squidoo.
The only way to get rich using squidoo is to create a lens, throw a few hundred spammy links at the lens and then link the lens to your website and a few of your sub pages. Don't think you can make money from adsense on squidoo.
another way of doing it is by researching a niche that needs publicity. Then create a kick off lens and sell it to somebody.
