I agree with post #17. You see it with TV talk shows, "reality shows," etc. Essentially everyone has an agenda, even if it's just to make money.

Fox is in the business of selling war to the public. It's not a news program, it's an ad.
And the business is GOOD, they are making a killing. Haliburton stock is up 500% in 5 years, or something.

Finishing off this thread. And waiting for a correct from thinkprogress. I'll hold my breath for that

NYT admits that it did not cover the story on page 1 for political reasons:

There ya go. NYT admitting it didn't cover the story on page 1. Thinkprogress lying? I'm shocked!

The soft truthiness of the New York Times, right? An admission that the push down of the story was politically motivated, too.

I wonder if Think Progress will issue an apology to Fox. Since it admits it didn't cover the story on Page 1. Of course it won't.

    Dishonesty? I'm shocked again!

Lorien you are too amusing to me. You love to call people for not answering your positions, but in here you can't focus on the topic only on "It wasn't a frontpage story." Thanks for the laughs as always!

What are you talking about? The point of this thread is the claim that thinkprogress says that the NYT did cover the story on the front page. NYT says it does not. Thinkprogress is lying. Remind me what I'm doing here; other than setting the record straight.

What about the TPs fans then?
Dunno why so many focus on O'relley. He's not really in a position of power. He's working on Fox News and his work tasks is to satisfy his audience in order to keep his watchers. He gets a lot of free promotion from those who doesn't agree with him. People aren't really forced to watch this if they don't want to, so why bother?

I read the article and it is more of OReilly lying, not where they placed the story that was of interest to me.

Come on O"Reilly is a great "journalist" he got his start doing great reporting on a Current Affairs, a tabloid show which he continues to use his talents from LOL

They said he was lying about where the NYT covered it. He did not lie. You may not care where they covered it; but it is a crucial point in the discussion, as it is the basis of the "lie". Think about it.

    From thinkprogress:
NYT admits to not carrying the story on the front page. Why are you defending think progress here? Clearly, they are wrong. And, by their definition, lying to their readers.

Perhaps he should replace the word Muslims with terrorists. That's because most Muslims isn't terrorists, just as most humans isn't terrorists either.

Lorien, I think it is just another example of "the facts don't matter" here. Some will continue to say that one person lied and ignore the details that followed only because of hatred and not truth. Truth isn't an option for the war of words from what I have been witnessing the last 10 years.

Doesn't anyone find it strange that this and other outrageous and egregious claims of liberal lunacy never end up in any mainstream press outlets... Nope, just some obscure web site no one has ever heard of... This might has well have been Rosies fat blog.

The truth is (and I have my copy of the Times in front of me... There was no mention of the JFK Terror plot on what I see as the "front page"... The front page to me is the first thing I see, which is the top half (before the fold)....

It is quite amazing that special attention had to be made including a zoom up, blow up and red highlight/circle to draw the viewer into the obviously intentionally obscured news about the JFK terror plot. That little blurb is anything but a front page headline..

Again, I am looking right at my copy. This is really nothing new for the times. I'm certainly not surprised here. Is anyone else?

Every news seems to have an agenda. It's sad that they just can't report what is happening and let us decide for ourselves.

Umm, ok let us take a look at this. Did the NYT cover the story? Yes, they did. Was it mentioned on page one? Yes it was. Did BO even concede that the story was mentioned on page one and purely not the main headline? No he did not.

The point being is the story in itself was a non story. Like every other terror plot 'busted up' the people under arrest had no plan, weapons or any other material needed to pull off such a stunt. Actually, JFK officials and the FBI said the plan had no merit at all as the pipeline would not have exploded with their plan.

Now, I am not defending terrorists in any way shape or form, but, as a New Yorker, this story did not mean much to me. Maybe it is just me, but I refuse to be afraid of the boogie man like BillO and many of the current politicians want me to be.

As far as BillO lying, the facts are there in front of you. Just one, of many examples off the top of my head, he said the US troops during WW II committed an massacre against German troops, he said this twice and then deleted the transcript from his website...real smooth BillO...when, in fact, it was the German troops who massacred US troops not like what BillO said.

Considering that BillO is not a real journalist, he is merely a commentator, he holds no weight with me. He got his start on a current Affair for petes sake! He likes to talk about traditional values yet he got sued and lost a sexual harassment case from a former producer and there are tapes to prove it. His first book, the title of which has slipped my mind, but it was talking about rape of a 15 year old girl...Nice traditional values.

The only thing I can respect of the guy is he admits that he is afraid of the white Christian male loosing complete control over America. What I mean by this is at least he admits he is a racist and is anti-women's rights.

So I will ask the question all of Fox News asks everyone who disagrees with their 'facts', according to them, why does Bill hate America??

Who says Bill hates America? I find it's mostly the liberal left that hates America. When's the last time we've seen a liberal in the media say something good about it? For that matter, when is the last time we've seen a liberal here say anything good about it. Just take a look at some of the topic threads here. Nothing but hatred for America.

That'd be nice if it was topic of the thread. Please pull out your dictionary and learn the difference between "mentioned" and "covered" then go to the think progress site and see which word they used. Then, you'll grasp the point of this thread. And then, remind me who is lying.

HUH? Are you serious? Liberals or Democrats as they should be called do not hate America. I see disdain for the current administration, 75% of America cannot be wrong, not America. I see Democrats more embracing of change unlike the Republicans, personally I think both parties are full of you know what and I think I am wise enough to see that no one point of politcal view is right.

I want to know why all Republicans instantly say Democrats hate America. There is no basis for it, typically they are just busting Bush on another lie or half truth.

BillO does hate America! He blamed Americans for a masacare that the Germans committed, twice I might add, and then he hid it from his viewers by deleting it from his online transcript. I just want to know why he blames the 'left' for everything when the 'right' has beeen in charge for the last 6 years. I am sorry but it makes zero sense.

Considering America is great, IMHO, because we embrace change and the difference of opinion (that is the American way after all and protected in the Consititution) and BillO and the rest of the Republicans hate change and bash all who want progress. Progress is moving beyond the 1950's where BillO and the rest of the GOP want America to remain. Change is good, differences in opinions are good this will keep America moving forward not backwards.
