Hello, I was curious as to what the criteria for acceptance into the YPN network is. Currently the stats on my site are as follows: Unique Visitors a Month: Approximately 75,000 as of 5/30/07 Page views: Approximately 200,000 Now I’ve applied for the network 3 times over the past year to no avail. I applied again today now that my stats are drastically increasing (PR4 site). But each time I’ve applied, I get no response from YPN, not even a canned automatic e-mail saying that they received my application. The application does go through because I verify the form and get the chance to recommend the service to others! Well I would if I got a chance to try it. Not sure if this is standard Yahoo operating procedure but sure seems like an archaic way to do business. Has anyone had a long time in waiting before being accepted into the network? Not sure if there is anything else I can do but for a business such as Yahoo to simply not respond to publishers, is somewhat unprofessional especially after reading their TOS carefully and realizing my site qualifies for their program. Either way, I’m curious to know similar situations. In addition they allowed a site for a person that openly committed millions in mortgage fraud on their service so I think my site analyzing the real estate market would be okay. Dr. Housing Bubble
Funny thing is, after posting on this forum I applied again and actually got a formal response saying I did not qualify for the network. Even though I have a PR4 site with traffic higher than many other YPN sites I suspect some YPN person reads this forum and responded to the fact that I mentioned Yahoo did not respond to any of my applications in the past year. Digital Point has some power.
I read that their beta is closed and they aren't letting anyone new in for now... Not sure if that was entirely true, but it seems feasible.
Hello drhousingbubble, I've been a YPN member for a couple years now. I've been looking for high traffic sites to share my YPN ads with. If interested, please review: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=317399 Sorry to highjack!
I got a couple of accounts for sites that had almost no traffic...I sold those accounts earlier this year
Well, how old is your domain? You can get in if you have a 10years+ domain. One of my collegues got in and the site barely had any traffic or content... But his domain was old.
That's reassuring.. I applied with a 12 year old domain that gets little traffic, but valuable traffic none the less.
my domains were new...registered last year...alexa rank in the millions....I think its completely random
Have a really good site with a lot of traffic. And be willing to flush your existing revenu in the crapper by filling it with YPN Ads.
I don't think the criteria has anything to do with traffic or pagerank. I got accepted back when my site had no PR and very little traffic.
The thing is, it's not really about PR. I don't think Yahoo would even use that. It's about the quality of your sites traffic, where the traffic is mainly coming from, the quality of your site, what it has to offer the YPN advertisers, etc. Any site can have alot of traffic and a good PR, but if they don't meet the criteria that YPN is looking for then you will not be approved. Anyway, sorry for you miss-fortune with being declined. Better luck next time I guess.
