1. PageRank Explained PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at considerably more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; for example, it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important." Using these and other factors, Google provides its views on pages' relative importance. Of course, important pages mean nothing to you if they don't match your query. So, Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-matching techniques to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond the number of times a term appears on a page and examines dozens of aspects of the page's content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it's a good match for your query. 2. Digg is a user driven social content website. Ok, so what the heck does that mean? Well, everything on Digg is submitted by our community (that would be you). After you submit content, other people read your submission and Digg what they like best. If your story rocks and receives enough Diggs, it is promoted to the front page for the millions of visitors to see. 3. StumbleUpon helps you discover and share great websites. As you click Stumble!, we deliver high-quality pages matched to your personal preferences. These pages have been explicitly recommended by your friends or one of 2,519,355 other websurfers with interests similar to you. Rating these sites you like () automatically shares them with like-minded people – and helps you discover great sites your friends recommend 4. YES, if you don't want it to be copied. 5. You just need to state you don't want it copied (Copyright 2007 / All rights reserved ) it's free.
Thx but still don't get it at all??? very confused Can someone explain very basicly but very informatively if thats possible
PageRank is a measure of how important one webpage is compared to another. Google base this on how many backlinks a page has and how important each of these links are (backlinks from a high PR site have more influence than links from a low PR site). Check this article for more PageRank info.
PR1 you get pr1 on your site when you get 4 back links to your site, or links of value like in your sig here at DP that alone might get you a PR1 the more links you have the more greater your page rank, page rank meaning home page on your website. the more pr you get the higher in the search listings your site gets. but you can help that with having good SOE with keywords and use the meta tags, people will tell you not to bother, but msn use them google dont, only a fool would risk all on one of the top 4 search engines.
