If i have my url signature listed on a forum in which is related to my site and that forum has a high PR ranking, will this benefit me?
No way to be positive but most likely it will. Just as long as they do not have no follow links. Any good quality link will benefit you and the more the better.
It should. The most important thing is to make sure the link is not a no follow or redirection. If they are the links are useless.
Some of my Google links just happen to be posts from this very forum, so post as much as you want. Just don't spam.
Hello, Yes it is important, but most important is if the signature link can give you traffic is my opinion.
In doing a links search, I have seen a PR3 and a PR1 Digital Point signature link pointing to my website. Usually they are PR0, though.
It is no follow not followup and it means that the web site has set the link to be a no follow which means Google or other search engines do not follow the link. It ok for advertising but has no affect on PR because the search engine does not even know it is there.
depends, once google crawls a forum page ive noticed it wont crawl it again for a very very long time. Unless the thread, like this one is developing. But once the first page is done, it most likly will never change. If you think of the number of changes in signatures in any given day, that could mean a single member on DP updating there signature, could mean over 11,000 pages would have to be reindexed.. if they updated it every hour that would be burdonsome. So links in signatures have to be for the very very long run, also keep in mind the link structure, once none of your posts are on the front page the link is completely devaluated. By this day next week this thread could be 10 pages down from the front forum listing. So if you become sick your links will be so burried they wont have much value. So after all that babbeling on, signature links are valuable, but unless you have thousands of posts with the same signature for months I dont believe links in signatures are all that get for PR. Yes you will benefit from this. Just make sure the forum is related to your niche, has some decent PR and doesn't have nofollow attributes.
Its better to post in blogs having dofollow links. Nofollow links exist in 90% of the forums so its pretty useless.
