I was checking my own profile and i noticed the Homepage link as clickable. Does it count as a backlink to Google? How can i check that? Sorry if it's a n00b question, but i really don't know the answer
If it's a hardcoded link on a page that google can see and it doesn't have a nofollow it will count. Will it be worth anything SEO wise? probably not.
most of the profiles on dp has pr 2-3 . there are profiles which has pr 4 .if your profile has pr 2, it will counted as a backlink from a pr 2 page
Go your profile page (or any other page you have interest on). Check out the Google cached page (I presume you have Google toolbar installed); if the page is cached, it means that Google knows about it. At the navigation bar of the browser, go to Show > Page Source Look for the link to your site (in long pages, use Find > www.yoursite.com); see how it is coded. In the case of DP profiles, the link is <a h*ef="http://www.domain.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">, meaning it will open in a new window, and is nofollowed.
If a webmaster doesn't know what "hardcoded" and "nofollow" is then he needs to start reading up on some stuff before worrying whether his profile link on DP is going to be seen by google, Seriously.
If it's "no follow" then it worth nothing to google but I think Yahoo still count "no follow" links as backlinks. CMIIW.
You could have been smart enough to look at my profile and see for yourself that i'm not a webmaster. And i'll not be one in the future...Seriously!
