"In a report released today, London-based Privacy International assigned Google its lowest possible grade. The category is reserved for companies with "comprehensive consumer surveillance and entrenched hostility to privacy." None of the 22 other surveyed companies — a group that included Yahoo Inc., Microsoft Corp. and AOL — sunk to that level, according to Privacy International. While a number of other Internet companies have troubling policies, none comes as close to Google to "achieving status as an endemic threat to privacy," Privacy International said in an explanation of its findings." http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4876274.html
What criteria did they base that on? It was a trend a few years back to "google" people and see what info you might get on them. (Even our local newspaper had an article about it.) That's simply because Google was (and remains) the top search engine. That doesn't mean the same information can't be found on the other search engines.
i dont see how google is any more a threat to privacy than any other entity on the internet which documents and stores personal info
This report is just plain BS : Google Bad On Privacy? Maybe It's Privacy International's Report That Sucks Close all Google accounts: Google doesn’t care about privacy
It's not a secret Google is trying to trace everything you're doing in Internet. More targeted ads for everyone! Cheers
If you go to google and look up "Johnny I Hack Stuff" you will see the Google Hacking database.. full of stuff people dont want you to see
The report is total crap and that organization is reckless for releasing such a report with no proof...
