Anyone got on the first page on digg.com ? How much did your traffic increase ? Any changes in your income ? How did you get on the first page ? Please share your stories.
Digg traffic rarely leads to an increase in sales or return visits. The traffic is young teens who want to feel 'geek' but won't be purchasinf affiliate products and rarely click google ad's. It's untargetted and no good for business. Thats my experiance with it.
Any social networking site is best for generate traffic to your site, but you have to give much time to make a large network ! yes it will increase your income..
Probably if you get on the frontpage, your site will soon be unaccessable and you'll spend more on hosting than you make in ad revenue. Diggers rarely click on Google ads, most webmasters don't either.
My traffic went up to 30,000 + page views per day. It's went down to about 1500 now. It's garnered some considerable backlinks, but since it's timely, that will go down. Digg is really only good for exposure and even then, it really just depends. The post that made it on my blog was about the MTV Movie Awards and Paris Hilton. Consider that the Digg audience. I got some clicks, but I'm not really in blogging for adsense. I just consider it nice when I can get a nickel or two to go toward my monthly typepad bill. It just really depends on what sort of site you have. And the Digg audience can be nasty. Be ready to be judged. Rudely. Comes with the territory.
You can get 20-30-40.000 visitors per day. Keep in mind Digg traffic doesn't convert well. Only advantages I see are the number of backlinks you will get and your Alexa rank will improve.
Some of my succesful digg stories have given some good backlinks that have helped me in the SERPs for some keywords. Income on Adsense increased with the traffic, but CTR was obviously a lot lower than normal.
when you write your story then you go to digg and digg it" now I get it this is the term that all other book markers use"
