what types of businesses have a good potential for money. I heard that travel, SEO are mostly saturated and too much competition there.

If anybody could post useful information, that would be great for starters!!!! :) :)

Honestly speaking any business can make you money if your going after a saturated market PPC would give you faster results just need to have good content and make sure you site is keyword rich... It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a domain with your keywords on it as well...all you need is 1% of the market!

    Here's my advice.
Write down a list of your hobbies and interests. Look at the list and think about which ones you could write a website about. Then think about whether you could monetize the site well (adsense, affiliates, your own products). Finally, look and see if the other competing websites are any good. Then go for it.

Every business can/will fail if it's run by the wrong person/company.

    Follow your passion(s).

What you're asking is like going to the college counsellor and saying "I'd like to make money" when asked what you want to major in.

I bet if you develop a cure for cancer, you'll make a few bucks. Does that help you? No. And neither will someone telling you that there's money in:

sports, travel, food, entertainment, products, affiliate programs, drugs (legal or otherwise), gambling, computers, production, import, export, stock market, forex, bonds, AdSense sites, writing, marketing, selling books, loans, and on and on and on.

Whatever field interests you, go for it. Just do your research and find something that you're willing to put a lot of time and effort into in order to succeed.

i know my friend has a ticket website where he sells other peoples tickets (he doesn't even have to ship them) and he earns all the profit. He's made about $60,000 in 6 months, althought he's probably spend 45,000 in advertising

I'll second this: follow your passion. It's what Donald Trump says: do what you love, and never quit. First passion, then create a way to profit from your passion.

There is going to be competition in any type of business but you can make money from any of them also. Just choose something you are interested in or something you know a lot of info about and make a awesome website and start marketing it.

    good luck!

In my opinion you can make a decent amount of money with every business you start.
In order to be successful you will need original ideas and some talent.

    LOL

You would probably do even better if you started a business giving things away for free... you would sure do a lot better than the guy trying to sell stuff.
