help me in moving my blog to new server..

hi friend

i wanted to move my database to new server. i use wordpress. can any one guide me how can i do that? i have installed new copy on new server how can i use my old database? both database have different name.

You can use phpMyAdmin for that.

First make a dabtabase backup from your Wordpress's backup plugin or phpMyAdmin and then import it to new blog through phpMyAdmin.

Another option is use the EXPORT/IMPORT feature of Wordpress.

Note: I' have transfered my test site rishimac.com from my old host at ixwebhosting.com to mediatemple.net so I know how to do.

Download the latest version then read the readme file. Installation and upgrade instructions are all there.

 

same problem here . cant import a sql file it is above 2.5 Mb . please help
