I'm wondering what happens when you have multiple websites about different subjects. Do I have to create a channel for each URL or just a whole new AdSense account? Because I'm afraid that once I launch my new site, I will see ads that are also relevant for my previous one. Do the ads mix across sites or each channel would have different ads? Basically I have a band fansite (www.wolfpacfan.com) that deals with music, mp3 downloads, lyrics, and such. However the new site I want to launch is about gaming and I don't want to see music ads on there. I hope this makes sense, heh. I'm new to Adsense, so any help would be great. Thanks.
You can have as many sites with one adsense account. Your only allowed one adsense account. Each site will show ads for that site. Adsense picks out keywords and shows ads for them from each site. Channels are used to track how each site or ad unit is doing. This way you can tell what site or ad is making you the most money. You do not need to use channels. Most people use one per site to track how much eac site makes. Some people use a channel for each ad unit to see wich one make sthe most money.
Yes one adsense account for multiple sites works fine. I have used it. You can set channels...ads are shown according to the content on the webpages...
Ah okay, thanks! I just thought of another question though. Does it matter that both of my sites are hosted on the same shared server, but use different URLs? Will Google have a problem with that? Either ad wise or ranking wise?
You can have as many sites under the same account. infact, since you are only allowed to have one personal account, you can have an unlimited nember.
Just make sure all your sites comply with Goggle AdSense's TOS. Channels will give you more control and room for optimization but they are not obligatory.
you can use one adsense account for multiple sites and use channels to see which site is earning more and that's all
You can always confirm someone's reply to your question by reading the program policies. ( or... maybe reverse the order. )
