$4,000 Budget, What to do?

Is it possible to put that money in a mass AdSense advertisement, that will turn profitable using only affiliates such as CJ or ClickBank?

Would you recommend building a mini site that has landing pages where products are compared?

What would you do with $4,000 if you had no major product / website?

With no website or product of my own, I would sell someone else's product. This won't require a website and all $4000 can go towards advertising. This will get you a quicker return on your money. However, it likely not leave a lasting residual.

Well actually I'd say it's *never* that simple.

I've experimented with AdWords and so far have not found a good winning strategy.

I was curious if any of you are increasing the ads so that you get a better incentive from the affiliated site. (You know... if you generate higher sales you get better %)

If/when you lose the first $200, try promoting something different. That way, you can try 20 different products.

I have never had any success with adwords (probably because I was doing it wrong). However, if I had $4,000 i'd buy a domain and design a site in a relatively (but not hugely) high paying / competitive niche. Then emply people / purchase link building services to get you ranking for your (pre-researched) keywords.

This will give much better ROI that adwords.

I would affilate/sell someone else's product but make sure you calculate the ROI so you won't end up loosing

Treat it as if you had a 100 dollar budget and work hard to find a niche and profitable keywords with high conversion rates. its important to not over extend yourself when it comes to PPC you should always analyze your results closely so that you know you are making $$$

Best advice yet. Treat it like u had a small limited budget, so u'll have to find a well paying, well-converting niche.
