Hello i wondering is copy/paste content from other pages allowed? I mean can i make for example "united" page about basketball and copy/past new's from all other sites about basketball? Is that legal?

If you know more about it please tell me thanks.

Generally it's not legal unless you get free articles from one of the many article sites. However, copying text from other sites is a bad idea, it doesn't help your rankings or anything. I would just write my own text if I were you. Unique content is king these days.

It can break copyright laws on a legal level.

On a SERP level, the page will likely be filtered due to it being duplicate content.

Honestly your best bet is to quote 10-15% of the article (under FAIR USE) and then give commentary on the rest of it. ~ put it in your own words ~ That way everyone wins.

    EDIT:

I just realized this was in adsense/compliance. My answer I guess is more suited to a regular google thread. To answer it here, I'm unsure, though I do know that they are getting pickier about what they allow. So it's likely best to follow my advice anyway, and just 'do it yourself'. If blatant plagiarism is not against the guidelines now, it very well could be in the future...so help yourself all the way around, and make your content unique.

Copy/pasting pages will give you no benefits.
    First, it's illegal.
Second, that's a duplicate content and google doesn't like it at all ;)

Google do have a BIG problem with that, your page will be sent to the supplemental index.

There are no guarantee it won't be copied by others.

I think it is illegal. It is not an adsense issue. But first of all it will be a copyright issue.

Plus what will be the use of the copied content as google would be knowing the original source and would put your page in supplemental index.

Well, its interesting that you say that because I have seen atleast 3-4 websites which do use Free Articles & are earning nice amounts with adsense.

I was planning on putting a website with Free Articles Content, but now i am absolutely confused. Getting banned is the last thing i want.

    Please Comment.

    No.

For example, if I wrote something (a poem, article, documentary, short story, whatever). Unless *I* give you permission, you have no legal right to use it, unless I put a license on it giving you right to do so, or if its licensed to the public domain.
