what's a proxy site?

I am new to this. could someone tell me what a proxy site is? thanks

 

Its a site that you can use to view blocked stuff

e.g. if your at school and it blocks myspace you go to a proxy and type in myspace.com it will then load myspace inside the proxy site so your school thinks your on proxy.com but your really on myspace.com

many people sell proxy website and check their urls and other informations.

 

Yeah it can be blocked to just like any other site but its easy to create more but there is only one myspace etc

Traffic comes from topssites, search engines, word of mouth etc

and revenue is from having adsense on the home page and then other ads on the proxified pages if you wish
