I used to have one link unit, it contributes around 10 - 15% of my earning. Now I took it off for 2 weeks to see the effect. So far my earning has increased though LD But depend on your placement, mine is vertical link unit. Horizontal link unit tend to do better.
i mean 3 link units not 3 ad units....place up to 3 link units on a page is new Policy updates anyway, thanks for your reply.
We are talking about Link units and not Ad units... ANyway I'm running 2 on website since 2 days. I will let you know how it works for me.
In my opinion 3 link units is just way too much and won't increase your earnings. You could loose some loyal visitors too.
This is actually pretty new. They have recently introduced the 3 link units on top of the 3 ad units and 2 search boxes. However, this has been done in the forum itself a few days ago. So you should search next time.
It really depends on many factors including your page structure, length and so forth. Basically more ads means more clicks but not always true, according to my experiences, 3 haphazardly placed link units underperform 1 well blended link unit at key spot of a page.
But to compromise for my users experience, some of my pages either include one 486 ads unit or a small link unit. But they do convert well.
I personally don't see much point in having them at all. I have not used any of them and never have even tried them.
