I never had really difficulties with paypal. The only con I can come up with is that I needed a creditcard for some payments. What is your experience ?
Pro: Most effective way to send and receive online payments. Con: If you receive a chargeback or disputed payment, its quite hard to recover the funds especially with web related payments.
Pro: Fast and easy way to send and receive online payments. Con: Their commision for exchange currencies, and for receive payments on business account.
Pro: They have nice blue website. Con: I cannot use it because PayPal hates small countries and well, Estonia is small country.
PRO: User friendly and reliable and well known. Very few places don't take Paypal Con: Fees are high for business account and you always have to keep that in your mind when selling something. Disputes are a nightmare. Overall, I have been using them a long time and I have not had many problems. I was using them pre-eBay times.
I would not say that they hate small countries because there are a lot of small island nations (much smaller than Estonia) listed on the Paypal supported countries. Let them complete the necessary checks and talks with your country first.
Pro : Easy to use and supports a wide number of countries, very low fees compared to any other payment processors out there especially for businesses. Con : Low level verification system which allows anyone to 'cheat' the system by using unverified VCC and people from non-supported countries who use fake info to sign up.
They have been checking and talking for the past 5 or so years, at least that is what they have been telling me, during that time they have been able to add Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, but they haven't been able to add Estonia. Do you really want me to believe that it is more difficult to expand to small Estonia where government is extremely e-orientated and where they (eBay) are already developing Skype or to a Poland where government is currently discussing whether Tinky Winky is gay or not? Estonia is in EU, just like Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, so it is not because of some laws that they aren't expanding to Estonia - financial laws are very similar within EU, so what am I suppose to think? That our government, that has been developing different e-services from e-tax office to e-voting, doesn't allow PayPal to expand to Estonia?
Do you realized that Estonia is a supported Paypal country ? I just checked, it is listed there as a Send Only country. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-approved-signup-countries-outside Give them sometime to upgrade it to Send and Receive.
That is what I am talking about, I cannot use PayPal. And how much time do they need? We have been send only for years and they haven't even thought of upgrading our accounts, while Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland were all added into send only list at the same time with Estonia, but now they can receive payments plus Poland now has its own paypal.pl site.
Pro Most popular secure method of payment Con Phishing attacks can be possible...an identical looking website is sometimes used to fool people shopping via internet
I have used it couple of times to make payments, but because they only allow sellers from UK and USA they don't have many seller yet and so there isn't much to do with it. Anyway I am quite positive about it and would certainly use it more often if only more websites would accept it.
