    Just curious.

    www.footballticketprices.co.uk

    for football ticket prices query. PR 1, SEO Score: 73% (according to whois), no good links, no working inner URLs, nothing. Last update 06 Feb 2007. A really popular query and many competitors. Many could do better than that guy, it seems to me. Is that because of the domain name? Does it really mean so much? And that's its a home page? Well, is it enough?

    Thank you for your suggestions.

    www.footballticketprices.co.uk site is probably quite suitable for "football ticket prices" serach query. Yes, it is a domain name, partially. What is important here: The TITLE of this site is also: football ticket prices. Google was obviously impressed with this match.

    Ever heard of red bananas? Red bananas in the title and in the domain did the job for red bananas site's owner: http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=sl&q=red+bananas

    the title tag is a perfect match for the exact phrase. no other website has this. it's that simple, when combined with the fact that there's no major down-sides, like lack of unique content on the page, or very bad coding.

    there's just no competition.

    Actually, it doesnt look that competitive a search term. Not that many people search on it, so not that many people are going for it. I'm sure if it was more competitive, they wouldnt get a look in.

    But still, some people are searching on it. Would be interesting to know how many visitors they are getting.

    I assume it would be great to see keywords like this where you can easily be the first. I usually have problems with that.

    it's really not hard to get top in google for medium-competitivity stuff if your site is named exactly right and title tags and headings are also perfect, and coding is efficient and content is longgggggggggggggggggggggggggg

    for medium competitivity search terms there's little competition in terms of exact title and heading matches on keyword-rich, unique-content-rich pages;

    so PR / inlink power is rarely relevant.

    true, but i think in this case the site would still be top because of its title tag and page content even without any links

    Keywords on URL and Title really helps in improving rankings. Using targeted keywords as anchor text also helps.
