Hi there. I'm trying find a host which allows me to offer other people to host their sites..

Which host would you recommend? and which plan should I go with? This will start really slow.. so basic plan should be fine.. It will be a free hosting service.

Since you are looking to offer hosting to other people for their websites, you can opt for a reseller plan instead. Here'e the link to our reseller plans http://www.eukhost.com/resellers.php

Well those websites that will be hosted are mostly made with simple htmls. Maybe some database php stuff too.

I don't know if i should go for windows or linux servers. can you recommend? thanks.

(edit) eukhost and webhosting.uk, what's up with using the same lady for the phone support? lol

Hi. Cheers guys. Do I really need to get a reseller account? Can I just get a standard account then give away sub-domains for free? Is this not allowed?

Yes you can give out subdomains, but the thing is you will have to do it manually, if you had a reseller, all you would need is billing software and those domains will be set up automatically.

    Check your PM.

If you want to allow other sites to host on your account, reseller account is the minimum I would say - however, you have to check with individual hosts whether they allow free hosting (many do but it's better to check first)
hostgator is a good webhost with great reseller support if you would like to check them out.

If you intend to run as reseller and give each user a cPanel account (i.e. a hosting account panel) then i would recommend you look after a reseller account instead of a multi domain hosting accoun with addon domains.

I have been with a lot of hosts over the years including some of the big named hosts, usually renting VPSs and I always encountered some issues, which can be expected. It was always the support that let them down.

I them came across webhostinguk.com and rented a VPS and I'm glad I did. I have encountered some issues most of which were not necessarily down to webhostinguk.

What impressed me was the level of support you get. A lot of my issues occurred at times ealry in the morning at the weekend etc. Practicaly everytime I submitted a ticket my issue was resolved in under an hour. This also included things that a host is not expected to resolve, i.e issues/ problems not related to their service, i.e my DNS issues.

    I cannot reccomend them enough.

I second what Roido said. I buy all my servers from them and their support really is top notch
