If you're new to AdWords don't bother trying to promote web hosting, that's my advice. Way too much competition for someone new...you'll get crushed.

Google adwords has a built in keyword tool that does a pretty good job of generating targeted keywords. All you have to do is type in a keyword, click on the generate button and it generate a list of keywords. It also can show you the traffic level of the keyword so you can see how popular it is.

Make sure you go through the video tutorials provided by Google. They got some great tips covering how to set a campaign up, editing keyword, etc.

    Good Luck,

    Paolee

GuyFromChicago's comment may seem harsh but he's right. There is a lot of experienced competition and you have a tough road ahead of you. With that said, be prepared to lose some money in the beginning. I think nearly everyone does when they are starting out, but you will lose more than the average because your CPC will be so high. If you are looking for pay per click resources to help you get started, here's one.

    Pay Per Click Reference

    Good luck.

Re-reading it I can see how it could be taken that way but that wasn't my intention. Was just trying to be honest - web hosting is ultra competitive and you'll be going up against the "big boys" right from the start. You'll be up against people with massive budgets and years worth of adwords data in the hosting market. Just look at some of the people competing in that space now and you'll see what I mean.
