I'm back, first question: does authority sites affect google rank?

    how does google decide if a site is a authority sites? if your site is authority sites,all page in your site will benefit frm it,right?

    I think Google just ranks sites, we as an audience determine what is an authority site. But typically they are high quality, high traffic and high PR sites. I guess what I am saying is Google in itself does not say "...this is an authority site".

    Maybe some of the SEO experts could add some more insight.

    Anyway - well estabilished for a longer period, active site with good content linked by many sites, not only to main page but directly to subpages - this could be some elements which determine sites authority.

    Authority is the site that came up with that content first. Google knows this, becouse you know this.
    If you copy some content from a fresh new website and you have an odl/established website then you might have a chance of becoming Athority over that content, if thats what you`re acctualy talking about

    Being an authority site has a huge advantage when it comes to rankings. Sites that have achieved this status rank for almost anything that appears on their site.
