Hey guys.. I have a fairly new blog up that I've been working on building a Pagerank and index for.. I just recently found TONS of blogs in my niche (That I never thought existed!) however now that I found them.. I found plenty of blogs that are Pr 3-5.. that I would like to try and get links from.. so this brings some questions... If I leave comments on their most recent topics, which gives the option to leave your comment through your URL name.. does that count as a backlink? Also.. if I were to trade links with them.. How does that effect my standing with google? i heard before that it does nothing, then I heard elsewhere that it's negative.. some say it's positive.. I never really looked into it so I wanted to find out now since I actually needed to learn it =P Thanks so much! -Derek
yes its a backlink because then ur name is the link. just a normal site to site link exchange wont do much at all since both are passing Pr to each other. A 3 way link exchange will help out a lot more and see more positive. Know that no backlinks can hurt you so get that negative out of your mind lol. Even if its an irrelavent link, it'll still help.
backlinks are very important in my opinoin when it come's to the serps. filling in the "url" field in your comments will get your a backlink. however, if they are using wordpress it's very possible if you get them to link with you your link will be site-wide (viewable on all page's)..which will possibly help you in the Yahoo and MSN search engine's where it helps to have sitewide links..
So what if I comment on all the Pr3, Pr4, Pr5 blogs around (There's like 15-20 that I found) as long as I'm not posting spam... It will count as a genuine backlink right? How much will that really help me on the SERPS just by commenting?
Just leaving a comment in high PR blogs doesn't automatically give you backlink. If they use 'nofollow' tag, your link doesn't counted. CMIIW
Hi I want to know that what is the basic of the nofollow tag, is this tag told to search engine that please not go to this site from here of this hyperlink or its will not come in the back link, becasue i have seen that no follow tags are mostly used in the google groups, and that has not come in the back link while the site is index from the google groups. I have put this blog in the google group http://anchitispat.rediffblogs.com but not index yet so can you make it clear for me Thanks Turbine Air Ventilators || Air Handling Turbo Ventilation Systems
nofollow is an attribute used in a link to instruct search engines not to follow the link. Correct syntax: <a href="http://www.domain.com/dir/page.php" rel=â€nofollowâ€>Text Link</a> nofollow was introduced by google to fight comment spam. Different search engine treat nofollow differently. nofollow from wikipedia
if you can have backlink from the article, not link in the comment, it will be better.. google love that..!
