Hi all, A month or so back I reported that myspace no longer had normal links in comments: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=305802&highlight=myspace+links+redirect Today I noticed on adding a comment to a friends-page, that the link shows my actual URL in hovering. I checked the source, and the link's are live: no rel-no follow on them at all! So, they count again for SEO purposes.
That's funny because just last night I was deleting some comment spam and it was all still msplinks! Wonder why it's back to normal...
I noticed that this morning but wondered if it was just my browser. Hope not was a good source of links.
I seriously don't know why ppl still use myspace. It's old news and full of spammers. You can find the same social nets all over now. Some even have fun stuff to do :-/
I know why people still spam myspace...because we make TONS of money doing it. Yes, I noticed the live links today as well. We'll see how long that lasts I guess. Until then, take advantage! Also...yes...I got millions of monthly visits from myspace traffic alone. If you aren't getting myspace traffic, you are really missing out.
But today I found they are now into captcha's (hope I spelled that correctly): those pictures where you decypher a couple of letters. Luckily once you solve a few they let you alone after that.
Most of the traffic that you are going to get will come from myspace traffic...not organic search. Although, there are some very cool tricks you can do to get a myspace page to rank in the organic search. Typically the millions of visitors come from many profiles...and you drive them from myspace to a site of your choosing. Although there is actually tons of traffic to the profiles, it really isn't just one profile that is getting the traffic. You take a lot of profiles and funnel that traffic to a website. Hope that makes sense.
