Like the title said I'm very pissed off by having a lot of mfa ads that get published all the time.

I am running a hosting company where I publish adsense ads, just a small amount, but all the time it shows a mfa ad (I check the ads twice a day with adsense preview tool).

What I do is the following: Twice a day I check the site with the adsense preview tool and filter the ads, most sites are hosting review sites with a lot of adsense ads on it etc. What I do is filter them immidiately, and what happend the next time I check them again... yes NEW mfa ads appears a lot. You can understand that this is a daily proces, but Adsense just limit the filter to 200. I know from experience that manual filtering is the best way. Imo better than adsblacklist.

But what should I do? Continue this?

    Hi Pilar

Did you know that AdsBlackList will soon allow you to register as a Premier+ member?

This allows you to manually enter specific URLs and fill the gaps with other related MFA sites from the database. Premier+ members also have the option to automatically update their Adsense filter every 'x' days, depending on the time they choose. Premier members are unable to update their Adsense accounts automatically.

Premier & Premier+ members can opt to have AdsBlackList analyse all linked domains, so we can identify the precise adverts which are appearing on your sites... a feature not available to basic members. Premier+ members also have the option of installing the AdsBlackList Toolbar, allowing for quick and easy submission of MFA/LCPC sites to the blacklist/your filter list or both.

MFA sites are never going to go away... the recent crackdown by Google only proves there is much work to do.

    Kind regards,

    Paul Moore

yes, you should... the only mfas that count are the ones appearing on your particular site... just make sure that your adsense preview tool is set up to reflect the country that sends you the most traffic.

since my filter has been full since the beginning, i try to overwrite the oldest urls first... google doesn't tell us when we put urls in the filter, so you have to manually check the old urls to see if they are still online... a lot of 'em have gone away in the last year.

I removed all url from the filter and got better paid. (I got those urls from AdsBlackList.com)
Google are supposed to show the best paid ads, I dont really see the use of filtering them out.

Ahhh, if only that were true, I have shown (at least to myself) time and again that they don't, though. Filtering works for me, if Google were showing highest paying ads all the time, filtering would not be necessary. Since it IS necessary (in my case, and in many other people's cases) we know there must be more to what constitutes "best paid ads" other than them paying the highest per click.

I think that isn't the solution, you can't filter all the ads - adsense gives you those ads because of content on your site - you need to change the content.... :/

If the competition filter doesn't help, there is little you can do.
Try to focus on different keywords and see what keywords pay best for you.

Using url filtering is a waste of time. Even if you see results in the first few days, it'll all return to "normal" (pre-filtering) a few days later when new MFA sites replace the old ones you filtered. You can NEVER get rid of them all, not with only 200 URL filters available to use. Your time is better spent on other things.

Then again, maybe there's nothing more to be done with your site, and maybe you do want to spend your time adding and replacing and removing and adding new urls to your filter list? Then the next day you can do it again, and again, and again...

Using filter is a good way to get rid of that.
but, do not use the list provided by adsblacklist, it sucks. It lowered my revenue by half. adding them manually is a good option.

Well, I guess the only solution in this case is to use the filter.

that is not always true, for a couple of reasons:

    1) google has eliminated "some" of the big mfa offenders
    2) most importantly, not all sectors are overrun with mfa'ers

the worst mfa sector that i have sites in is computers... but even that has improved since last year.

for the majority of what i do, the filter permanently removes all mfa sites... do it once, and they are gone forever... i see maybe one or two new mfa sites a week.

Could be, I'm just talking from experience. I've done it like the OP and it just never works. I spent all my time hunting for MFA sites on my site, refreshing, looking for new ones, and bam, the URL filter is full again. Then I have to start all over... It just seems like an endless cycle of time wasting.

But I will admit I DO use the URL filter for two reasons:

    1) I filter out all those ebay ads. They are just worthless half-cent clicks.
    2) I filter out those giant text ads that takes up the entire block, but only if it doesn't have anything to do with my site.

#1 is done and over with; #2 doesn't take much maintenance, because it's rare I get those big block-filling text ads.

A lot of this is site specific, YMMV, etc. I've found the filtering does work for me, and maintenance isn't all that horrible. Certainly worth the small effort to move my clicks out of the low single-digits :)

He means, stick to PROVIDE services to your clients and stop stuffing your business web site with Ads. Honestly, that gives you -1 reputation point infront of your customers or potential customers.

Try to concentrate more into things like "how to intrigue a visitor to signup with my services" instead of filtering ads placed on your "business" web site.
