Hello everybody, I am looking for press release writing and distribution services and wanted to know which company or who you would recommend for this job. I need someone or a company that can do a really good job with a budget of US $1000. Also, how effective have press releases been to your business/website? Please share your thoughts and recommendations. They're really appreciated.
I use them quite a bit. They are effective when done properly. The first thing needed is a newsworthy angle to write about - something that will create interest when people read it. Would it be for the site in your signature?

I am still working on the site actually (changing content to be more friendly, removing separate pages and displaying content with Ajax to keep people on the homepage, and planning a contest.) I am getting a custom bus built for this campaign (with High Definition screens, PS3 consoles, and other features) that will tour the US for 400 days. What I am doing is offering 39 spots in each city that both the internet and the bus will be used to advertise. It is my bid for my family to afford getting out of Iraq (I am the only one living outside) because of the wonderful situation we all know about. Who do you normally hire for writing and distributing your press releases? Any recommendations?
I can help you with the distribution. As for the writing, why don't you start by making a list of the points you want in the release. Keep in mind that you want the release around 400-500 words, so once you have that list it is easier to write.
I wanted the press release written by a professional. I think it would be better as a professional writer working in the field should be able to write something that captures people's attention. Also, I am not a native English speaker and I do not want a press release with writing and grammar mistakes.
I hoped to get a professional writer that can maybe interview me to learn about the project and use the newsworthy information to write the press release. I'm not sure if that's possible with my budget though.

I ended up writing my own press release and distributing it to a bunch of free press release websites. In the next few days i got picked up by AVN network, local newspaper and a few other web journals asking for an interview... That worked a treat.
Thanks kirby and mighty. Writing the press release myself is an option, but I prefer hiring a professional writer now because I do not have time to research the subject (working and studying.) Thank you for the information though.
