My question is this: what is the currency you generally use for your services/products? Since I'm from Europe (EU) I'd prefer to use € (euros) but since many of my clients are from US I'm still using $ (dollars). What do you suggest? Should I switch? Also, if you're from US, how do you see prices in EUROs. For example, which one is preferable for you: $100 or €100 ?
I'm UK based but use $'s except for from local customers with whom I use £'s ... I manage conversion to £'s from $'s through paypal for accountancy purposes.
In all my time on the internet, both as a webmaster and consumer, I have found the vast majority of people work with $US so I have adopted to that currency myself. Even though I'm from the UK, I do now get a little taken aback when I see online prices quoted in '£'
us dollars on because this is a us forum if it was an English forum I would switch my self as an American to the euro
EURO for European countries and USD for other countries. Meanwhile USD is now a weak currency causing our Adsense incomes to drop Cheers ! Thibaut
Since the USD is the backbone of the world currency system, I'll take them. Actually, I'm in the US, so Euros don't do too much for me. Might get funny looks if I walk into the store and whip out a bunch of Euros. The Euro is a fairly solid currency. If I lived in the Philippines, I wouldn't be asking for the Philippine Peso either.
I also use US, although the US currency's downward trend is really harmful. In about a year the currency has gone from 1EUR = 1.25USD to 1EUR = 1.35USD. As I'm charging US dollars, I'm losing in this game
if my currency (peso) is not available, my second choice is US dollar! i always have a hard time converting dollar to peso! it will take 50 years before you will have the cash with you!
Id offer euros, dollars and pounds as they are probably most popular currencies on the net....that way all your customers are happy - and that whats important in the end? not how you feel??? surely.
For online purposes: US$. For Dutch clients: euro's. I agree with the comment on the strong euro and weak dollar: it makes for less money overall for me.
